At night many of the zoologists and even hunter uses infrared cameras to find animals. But do you know that polar bear cannot be tracked through infrared cameras? These infrared cameras detect the infrared rays coming out of your body. In simple terms infrared rays are the heat that is radiating from your body. The dense fur of a polar bear prevents the body heat from escaping. Also, the guard hairs on a bear’s fur are effective at absorbing the heat. This too helps in preventing body heat from escaping. As there is less heat escaping from a polar bear you will detect the temperature of the polar bear’s coat to be close to the temperature of the environment.
